Born in Cortona (Tuscany) on Dec,24th 1976.
Since he was a little boy he became passionate about fishing, passion transmitted by his father , but it’s in 1995 that he completely fell in love with fly fishing.
During high school, he saw in a shop a weird rod and it was love at first sight ! At the beginning he used to fish in small rivers nearby his house , when the fish were still there...

completely self-taught and guided by great passion...

Then he started to fishing in many rivers around middle Italy...it was 2008...and than Slovenia, Austria , North Italy...
In the last two years Nord Europe, most of all Norway... He's also very passionate about the art of fly tying and loves custom rods, mainly glass and graphite...



Nato a cortona 24 dicembre 1976.. "simms" da piccolo si appassiona alla pesca trasmessa dal padre.. ma è nel 1995 che scoppia l’amore per la pesca a mosca.
Frequentando le superiori vede in vetrina una strana canna e da lì è subito amore..
Da prima si cimenta nei vari fossi vicino a casa, quando ancora c’erano pesci...
Completamente autodidatta ma guidato da una grande passione.. Inizia poi a spostarsi nei vari fiumi del centro Italia. Nel 2008, prima uscita in Slovenia, poi un susseguirsi di altre mete.. Austria Slovenia Nord Italia.. e da un paio di anni nord Europa, principalmente Norvegia.
Appassionato di costruzione e canne custom principalmente in glass e grafite...

Marco Clari

He started fishing as a child with his father and grandfather, especially in the big river at the valley floor river, and later tried other techniques.

About ten years ago, with the help of a friend who gave him a fly rod and reel, he got to know and try this fantastic technique and was so fascinated by it that he never went back and chose it as his only fishing technique.

He initially started dry-fly, but as he almost always frequents alpine streams, where dry-fly is fruitful a few months of the year, he decided to make use of fishing trips according to the conditions of the various streams, thus also using nymphing.

After learning the correct casting technique, he started practising what is known as ‘Alternative Flyfishing’, namely fishing for many species of fish in freshwater and at sea.

A few years after entering the world of fly fishing, he started to build flies, first assisted by his great friend and great builder Fulvio Michelotti, whom he will never stop thanking.

He began by building classic American and European dry flies, which he used in the early days in his torrents throughout Piemonte. Later on, also with the emergence of new construction techniques and new materials, he began to modify his construction style by using the new materials in the best possible way, but always respecting the construction canons.

He likes to test and always try to improve his imitations, which he continues to experiment with in various rivers and streams in Italy and occasionally on fishing holidays outside Italy.

Where the fishing is intense, catches are never taken for granted and his imitations are severely tested, which is a reason and incentive to continue experimenting and modifying the flyes.

Since 2016, at the launch of the Flyfishing360 website, he has been part of the team in the Dressing section, where we focus on artificial fly construction.

At the Vicenza Fair 2017, he built at the FlyFishing360 stand's Flytying Corner together with other FlyFishing360 team members and flytyer friends, including Luca Barosselli and Andrea Rossetti.

The following year, he participated in the Fly Tying Experience 2018 at the Vicenza trade fair, where he will also participate in the 2019 edition, along with many nationally and internationally renowned builders. It was a wonderful experience that helped him to compare himself with the techniques and ideas of other fly tyers so that he could further improve and continue to modify techniques and the use of materials as they continue to evolve.

He sometimes participates in construction evenings at some clubs in the province of Turin, where he likes to share his know-how and his most used and most appreciated imitations.

Since 2019, it has started and continues its collaboration with Pro Staff Gulff where various internationally famous flytyer are present.

Today, he continues to build and experiment with new methods and materials by comparing with other flytyer friends from all over the world in order to never stop learning and keep up with the times.

Ha iniziato a pescare da piccolo con il padre e il nonno, soprattutto nel grande fiume di fondovalle, per provare in seguito altre tecniche.

Una decina d'anni fa, grazie a un amico che gli ha regalato canna e mulinello da mosca, ha voluto conoscere e provare questa fantastica tecnica e ne è rimasto affascinato a tal punto da non tornare più indietro e sceglierla come unica tecnica di pesca.

Ha iniziato a pescare a secca, ma frequentando quasi sempre torrenti alpini, dove la secca è redditizia pochi mesi all’anno, ha deciso di sfruttare le uscite di pesca in base alle condizioni dei vari torrenti, utilizzando quindi anche la ninfa.

Dopo aver appreso correttamente la tecnica di lancio ha iniziato a praticare la così detta “Alternative Flyfishing”, ossia la pesca a molte specie di pesci sia in acqua dolce sia in mare.

Qualche anno dopo essersi affacciato al mondo della pesca a mosca, ha iniziato a costruire mosche, dapprima seguito dal grande amico e grande costruttore Fulvio Michelotti, che non smetterà mai di ringraziare.

Comincia col costruire mosche secche classiche, Americane ed Europee, che i primi tempi ha utilizzato nei suoi torrenti in tutto il Piemonte, successivamente, anche con la nascita di nuove tecniche costruttive e nuovi materiali, ha iniziato a variare il suo stile di costruzione impiegando i nuovi materiali nel miglior modo possibile, ma sempre rispettando i canoni costruttivi.

Gli piace testare e cercare sempre di migliorare le sue imitazioni che continua a sperimentare in vari fiumi e torrenti in Italia e, occasionalmente, in qualche vacanza di pesca all’estero.

Dove la pressione di pesca è molto elevata le catture non sono mai scontate e le sue imitazioni vengono messe a dura prova, motivo e stimolo per continuare a sperimentare e modificare gli artificiali.

Dal 2016, alla nascita del sito web Flyfishing360, ha preso parte al team nella sezione Dressing, dove ci si concentra sulla costruzione di mosche artificiali.

Alla fiera di Vicenza 2017 ha costruito presso il Flytying Corner dello stand FlyFishing360 insieme a altri membri e amici flytyer del team, tra cui Luca Barosselli e Andrea Rossetti.

L’anno successivo ha partecipato al Fly Tying Experience 2018 alla fiera di Vicenza, dove parteciperà anche nell’edizione 2019, insieme a molti costruttori di fama nazionale e internazionale; bellissima esperienza che gli ha permesso di confrontarsi con le tecniche e le idee degli altri flytyer in modo da poter migliorare ulteriormente e continuare a modificare le tecniche e l’impiego dei materiali in continua evoluzione.

Talvolta partecipa a serate di costruzione presso alcuni club nella provincia di Torino, nelle quali ama condividere le sue conoscenze e le sue imitazioni più utilizzate e più apprezzate.

Dal 2019 ha iniziato e continua la collaborazione con il Pro Staff Gulff dove sono presenti diversi costruttori di fama internazionale.

Oggi continua a costruire e a sperimentare nuovi metodi e materiali grazie al confronto con altri amici flytyer di tutto il mondo per non smettere mai di imparare e restare al passo con i tempi.

“Since I was young I played different fishing techniques and, in 2010, I landed to fly fishing.
Suddenly I felt in love with it and it became my only passion. The year after, with the guide of friends, I started tying my first flies: both classics and moderns.
Since then, with the support of tiers well known in Italy and Europe, I always tried to improve myself, getting new tips and refining my tying technique.
I went constantly deep inside this new magic world with a lot of blood, sweats and tears, focusing mostly about the Italian Style where Francesco Palù was the pioneer.
I had a cooperation with the famous teacher Massimo Magliocco, taking care of his tying articles published by some important specialized magazines.
In 2015 I tied at the Forlì Fly Fair for my friend Diego Riggi, founder of Dressing Italiano, in 2016 I attended at the Vicenza Fly Fair at “Fly Fishing 360” corner, an organization wich I’m still associated to.
In 2017 I attended again at the Vicenza Fly Fair tying at the desks of “Fly Tying Experience”, a tying group organized by Fabio Federighi, one of my best teachers and a friend.
At this Fly Fair I won a Stonfo prize for a tying competition organized by the magazine La Pesca a Mosca e Spinning.
I’m also a pro team member of Gulff Resins and I’m still associated to the Bereguardo Greygoose Club where I share my passion with my friends.
My flies go through different techniques, from traditional to modern ones with the use of every kind of materials available.
I go fishing to rivers in Italy and abroad, plenty of challenges where I love trying my flies and push my limits.
I’m conscious to be only at the beginning of an hard and long way, to pursue a path that will allow me to grow professionally.”




“Sin da bambino ho praticato diverse tecniche di pesca e nel 2010 mi sono avvicinato alla pesca a mosca. Il legame con questa disciplina è stato molto forte divenendo la mia vera ed unica passione. Un anno più tardi, grazie all'aiuto di alcuni veterani, mi sono avvicinato al flytying cimentandomi nella costruzione di mosche classiche e moderne. Con dedizione ed i giusti consigli cerco sempre di migliorarmi, acquisendo sempre nuove nozioni ed affinando la mia tecnica costruttiva.
Tutto questo mi ha spinto sempre più in questo magico mondo, in particolare verso lo stile italiano meglio noto come “ italian style” nato dal grande pioniere Francesco Palu.
Collaboro con il mio insegnate di lancio Massimo Magliocco, seguendo la parte di costruzione artificiali nei vari articoli pubblicati sulle riviste. Sono membro del gruppo "Fly Fishing 360”. Nel 2015 costruisco con l'amico Diego Riggi alla fiera di Forlì per “Dressing Italiano”, presenziando anche la fiera di Vicenza nel 2016 al corner “Fly fishing 360”. Anche l'anno successivo sono stato al Pescare Show della suddetta fiera, come costruttore al “Fly Tying Experience” grazie a Fabio Federighi mio mentore ed amico. Proprio in questa edizione da “Stonfo” ho ricevuto il premio annuale indetto dalla rivista “La Pesca mosca e spinning”.
Successivamente sono entrato a far parte del pro team “Gulff” dove ho stretto un rapporto di collaborazione con diversi costruttori internazionali; faccio parte inoltre del Club "Greygoose" di Bereguardo dove mi ritrovo con gli amici periodicamente per condividere la nostra passione.
Le mie mosche variano dalle tradizionali a quelle più moderne con l'impiego di ogni tipo di materiale senza limitazioni di sorta. Frequento corsi d'acqua italiani ed esteri ,ricchi di insidie e difficoltà dove mi cimento per testare al meglio le mie mosche.
Sono consapevole di esser solo all’inizio di un lungo e difficile cammino, fiducioso di percorrerlo crescendo professionalmente con allenamento e dedizione.”
